Floppy Drive Mismatch
Explanation: The BIOS’s POST sequence has detected that the actual type of floppy disk drive found in your computer does not match what what has been defined in the BIOS setup program. Many poorly written BIOS’s will not report this error, instead the drive will just malfunction when you attempt to access it.
Diagnosis: The floppy disk settings in the BIOS setup are incorrect or the drive has failed.
Recommendation:
- Enter the BIOS setup program and correct the floppy disk type settings.
- Troubleshoot the floppy disk drive(s), in particular, ensure that the floppy disk drives are connected properly, as they may be cabled backwards if you are using two drives.
