Installshield and Quiet Installations

Most software installations that involve the use of InstallShield for installation can be setup for quiet, unattended installs.

To accomplish this, first run SETUP.EXE with the “-r” command line option.

Select whatever options are required, and let the installation finish.

Copy the SETUP.ISS file from the Windows directory to the directory containing the installation files. The file is a text file, which can then be edited to incorporate any other changes.

To now do a quiet install, type “SETUP.EXE -s”
