Un-Skinning Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x
This is for those of you who have had the look of your Internet Explorer changed or altered by your computer manufacturer or you Internet Service Provider (ISP), or maybe you just visited an Internet site that changed the way your Internet Explorer looks. This is referred to as “skinning”, and the process usually involves the manufacturer, ISP or someone else placing their name somewhere within the IE screen and maybe even their logo in place of the spinning IE logo. In most cases, this fix will work.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows. If you have Windows Explorer open, close that as well.
- Click the Start button, and then select Run.
- In the small window, type the following:
rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear
- Now click OK.
- Now restart your computer and Internet Explorer should be good as new!
