Restricting Functions Through The IE4/IE 5 Classic Desktop

If you have IE 4.0 or 5.0 and selected Classic Desktop and now cannot undo it go to the Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and check the key for the value name ClassicShell.

Set the value to zero (00 00 00 00).

This is the key that control what the current user can and cannot do, what they can see and access. Here is a list of just some of the things that can be added to this Key, zero is off and 1 (01 00 00 00) is on. If the NoRun value is set to 1 then you would not see the Run label at the Start Menu of your DeskTop.
