5. Using Active Server Pages with Personal Web Server or Peer Web Services:
In earlier versions of Personal Web Server, if you wanted Active Server Page support with either Personal Web Server or Peer Web Services, you had to install the Active Server Pages components after installing your server software. The Active Server Page components are now distributed with the Setup programs for Personal Web Server version 4.0 but not with Peer Web Services. To download the Setup program for these components for Peer Web Services, connect to this link and download the appropriate files:
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/ntoptionpack/askwiz.asp.
Note: To install the Active Server Pages components for earlier versions of Personal Web Server running on Windows 95, download the Active Server Pages for Windows NT (i386) Setup files.
6. Internet Information Server
When most of the publications were written for version 4.0 of the Personal Web Server, the current release of Internet Information Server (IIS) was version 3.0. Version 3.0 has been superceded by Internet Information Server version 4.01 and then version 5.0. We have not yet tested version 5.0 with PWS.
You will need to visit the NT 4.0 Option Pack download area and download the following Windows 9x components to your computer and then expand them to install IIS.

7. Remote Data Service version 1.5 Release Notes (Click Here to Review)
Microsoft Remote Data Service (RDS) is a component of ADO (current version of ADO is 2.1) that provides fast and efficient data connectivity and the data publishing framework for applications hosted in Microsoft Internet Explorer. It is based on a client/server, distributed technology that works over HTTP, HTTPS (HTTP over Secure Sockets layer), and DCOM application protocols. Using data-aware ActiveX controls, RDS provides data access programming in the style of Microsoft Visual Basic® to Web developers who need to build distributed, data-intensive applications for use over corporate intranets and the Internet.
Access 2000 If you intend to run any DAO code in Access 2000, you will need to add the DAO Library (Microsoft DAO 3.0, 3.51 or 3.6 Object Model) to your references by choosing Tools, References (in the Visual Basic Editor). If your DAO code still returns an error, remove the Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.0 or 2.1 Library from your references, and your DAO code should run just fine, providing of course there are no errors in your programming.
